The control action was focused on labeling and traceability of garlic, in particular on verifying whether foreign garlic is not falsely labeled as garlic originating in the Czech Republic.

A total of 57 inspections were carried out.

No deficiencies were found in the growers and in the warehouses and packing houses in terms of the balance of production or purchase of garlic and delivery to customers. No deception was detected about the country of origin of the garlic.

In retail, the quality and labeling of garlic was checked and documents were required on the origin of the garlic sold. The inspectors noted unsatisfactory facts in the retail trade during three inspections.
